Sorry to say, I used to live on a horse ranch and work with the horses, but those silly critters just don't like me maybe because the dogs always seemed to be right on my heels? Sure do miss being around those big lugs.even if they did like to bite from time to time.especially that stallion of my daughter's.and she called them love nips.jeez.

Hey guys I am a 17 years old living with my family i have mom and dad that have been married for 20 years and one older bother that is 19 and four loving dogs I am the only daughter My brother lets call him phinny dont want to use his real name.

caused a lot of trouble for are family this past year he slapped his ex girlfriend and had legal issues he did not go to jail he has probation. my parents hired him a lawyer which costed 2 grand on top of that he used are parents credit card without there permission to buy his ex girlfriend a cell phone and time for her phone there goes another 800 dollars.

in the past three weeks he acciedently set the kitchen on fire he said he was really sick and when he came out of the bathroom and into the kitchen he saw the fire and called 911 now are home is runied their are ashes everywere in that house it was very hard for the whole family to lose the house.

had to stay in a hotel for one week it was very hard on me. We found a rental home 8 or nine houses down to live in. Yesterday while we were going to leave for my doctors appointment he did not wait for the door to back up and he busted the garge door but the reapir fixed it. On top of that he burnt dinner on the stove and set it on high which doesnt make sense cause you will probaly burn down the house again like he did when he was cooking hot oil on the stove.

smell was very triggering to me ansd mother it was like reliving the day i walked into the house to see my house. praticly half the time i was watching the stove while he chatted with this girlfriend on the phone. I had to call and cancel my appointment it fustrated me a lot i need to get a script from my doctor and aslo was thinking about gettting on anti depressents i spoke with a doctor about it.

are few people in my life that get my sane thats my therapist my youth minster some of my friends and my father. he has not even paid my parents back for lawyer fees at all he did pay the phone bills back Sometimes I feel like he isnt even sorry for all the grief he has put this family through.

been hard enough to lose a home. he just has no common sense My brother just barley grauated high school with 5 d's and one c he smart he just never wanted to do home work.

I habve promblems to but am getting better improving i go to therpy myself. I love my brother but I just dont think he thinks at all about he action he never said sorry to us. I feel some what guilty i feel like i have to look after him now he is a perfelctly normal fuctioning person We go to family therpy Are family therapist is a very nice lady who keeps me sane with are family issues. We ended up going to family therpy because i went to a residental treatment center for a binge eating disorder and they reccomended family therpy so ever sice then we have gone since the end of march my question is should i call the family therapist to keep thisme and this family sane and to get advice we see her every two weeks but dont see her till july 8th but ill be in californa with my church for a trip. sometimes my parents feel like faliures like what did do wrong in my opion they did nothing they have rasied me with good morals and values and sure i have had mental health issues but i feel guilty they say that about themselves i just feel really guilty about what has been going for the past couple of weeks. he doesnt even have a job a all he stays up till 3am and wakes up at noon i go to summer school till 8 to noon and then come home and do chores and might go swimming that day and ill go out the weekends sometimes. he lives at home and just graduated high school less than a month and has a restraining order against his gorlfriend and is going to commiunty college

I just dont understand the logic in 'em. Your training the dog that it's O.K to pee in the house.

when you take them up hes gotta be confused as hell. To me you took on the responsibilty of pet ownership and just cause you dont want to walk him in the weather you resort to that.

it difficult re training when you took them up I compare it to diapers on a baby surly your 3 year old child was taken off diapers and potty trained but some people just keep them on the things pee pads amazing logic to me ! Its got to smell in the house.

the cost in these things ? Seems lazy to me to take on a puppy and not train him while you sit on the couch watching re runs of MASH ! Opnions and logic please as Im baffeled that you get to the top of the food chain and let a beloved pet urinate in your castle. Everybodies answers are great disabled and 40 degrees below zero are ones I can understand but Im sorry I dont want to go out in the rain either but dang it I took the responsibility when I got the dog Doberman and Im king and if Im taking you out in the rain and cold the your going like it or not Im pack leader.

First off, I'm NOT a dog person.

me. But it seems my bf thinks this is such a bad thing.

dog is a big pain in the ass not only do i come home and have to clean dog piss and crap everyday after work. He gets mad because I don't like smelling piss when I come home. I don't like the dog in my kitchen, it grosses me out. So the dog knows not to come in there when I'm home. As soon as my bf comes home the dog runs in there until i chase her out and my bf gets mad at ME! The other day the dog was throwing up and pooping all over the house so i put her outside where she did it again and had poop and throw up all over her. My bf comes home and gets mad at me and lets her in with that crap all over her letting her roam all over until he cleaned her up.

i wanted was for him to keep her outside( it was 95 degrees the dog was not going to die until he could clean her up. I was so mad! He is not respecting me or at least working with me.

reason is he says its my fault because the dog feels neglect from me! I tolerate that dog as much as I can but having to come home every single day to a pissy house is getting tiresome. Actually there is more to the story. I called him at work to tell him something was wrong with the dog.he told me to wait and not take her to the vet thank you very much) because it would be expensive.I had her inside and she was throwing up all over the apt so i was cleaning it up I did not have her in the sun she was shade i turned on our fan and put a big bowl of ice water and her blanket out side. No the dog is the family dog she like 11- or 12 we had to take her in while the brother was on a job leave, he's back but has been mia, He has a house and big backyard and I feel the dog would be more comfortable there. He's not necessarily a dog person actually. My main concern is he's not working with me with the dog. I can't say anthing!

I'm a college student with my own apartment with a yard and such, also right near a park, and I'm strongly considering getting a German Shepherd.

anybody have experience with bringing their dogs to class? I'd be loathe to leave the guy alone whenever I go to class. Is it generally on a case-by-case basis with the professors, or have you found that it's generally an OK thing to do with a well trained, quiet dog?

I am an animal lover. I rescue cats and dogs. As of yesterday my dog pack killed my 13 year old cat! They have killed 3 cats over a six year period. We have done everything to keep this from happening. Seperate rooms, supervision and just when my guard is let down for a moment they did it again.

the responsible parties are 3 dogs I have raised from puppy hood and 1 adult rescue.

will lay down with the cats and show no agression what so ever around us.

eat and lay together! They are also small dogs. 2 dachshunds, a yorki poo and a mid size retriever mix.

do they keep doing this? Can a person stop this split personality? I went to the store and the dogs managed to push the door open and I came home to hold my dying cat in my arms all but stripped of his hair and bleeding! I cried for hours. I do not want to re-home them but I cannot have this happen again.

advice is appreciated I have spayed, neutered, vetted and found homes for over 35 animals. 26 of them cats. 20 of the cats feral. I have crates and 2 seperate rooms one is a devoted cat room but the dogs do have to go through it to go outside. I just did not crate them yesterday once again trustng them like a fool. My dogs first kill was a feral.

wild. And remember this was over a period of six years! But excuses aside, based on the answears so far you all are correct. I am going to have to break up the pack by placing them and find homes for the cats. It is not fair to them and I guess I am naive to think I could change nature.

the lady person (sorry cant remember the trainer lady's name) used whats called sound divertion (making a loud noise (such as a blow horn) to startel the dog when she/he is doing something wrong) to stop a dog from stealing food off the table.

in the episode it actually worked. Do you think using this same method to stop my dog when she is peeing in the house is a good idea? or will it just starle her and make her pee more? pros? cons?
